Local Services

Working with Local Practices

Since April 2019, Cavendish Health Centre has been part of a Primary Care Network (PCN) of local practices. The PCN is called the West End and Marylebone PCN and covers patients in Marylebone, Soho, Covent Garden, Fitzrovia and Mayfair. Our patients can access certain clinics provided by other practices in the PCN such as warfarin monitoring, counselling and more advanced diabetes care.

We also work with Hub practices (Connaught Square, Westbourne Green and Pimlico) and our patients are able to attend these practices in the evenings and weekends for GP appointments and also nurse appointments (including wound care, blood tests, smears, suture removal, immunisations and ECGs).

Accident and Emergency (A&E)

An A&E department (also known as emergency department or casualty) deals with genuine life-threatening emergencies, such as:

Less severe injuries can be treated in urgent care centres or minor injuries units. A&E is not an alternative to a GP appointment.

Eye Emergency

The A&E department is not the first point of contact for eye problems.

If have a recent eye issue such as: sore eyes, redness or visual disturbances, you can be seen within the local NHS minor eye condition service (MECS).

As such if your eye problem is not an emergency you should see your Optician, GP or local MECS (Minor Eye Conditions Service) who will refer you to one of our specialist clinics if necessary.
